Sky Sports have announced that Tottenham Hotspur have signed Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for a club record fee of £65 million. The French midfielder will join on a 5 year deal with an option of a further year.
The 22-year-old spent the last two seasons at Lyon, with some fine performances, gaining a reputation not only in the league but also being recognized by French manager Didier Deschamps. Ndombele has made 6 appearances for his national side with his first appearance coming in early October of 2018.
In his two years at Lyon, Ndombele has shown some incredible skill and strength, driving through opposition as well as some excellent vision to pick out his team-mates. There are some similarities with him and Pogba in style of play going forward but also physical strength and touch, like that of former Spurs midfielder Mousa Dembele.
A very exciting player that is a huge push in the right direction for Spurs, managing to beat other European clubs to the Frenchman’s signature.
